    I blink my eyes and it's done. Never compiled code that took so long that I could have done something else.

    Luckily I don't do C++ much anymore, so compile is pretty much instant. Doing a port from C++ now, small program, but those 20 seconds annoy me

    That time is testing time for me, as my php app will take up to 4 minutes to be fully tested
    In that time I surf internet or review my teammate's branch, or just listen to music

    Compiling, not much time to do anything.
    If I'm collecting from a database or doing some large number crunching for school, devRant.

    You haven't compiled large projects obviously... Try compiling ffmpeg.

    On my i5 kaby lake with ssd and 12gb ram it was taking up 100% cpu and 100% gpu the last time I was building it and it took about 10-15min

    Better to ask: What do you do when machine is compiling/making the huge packages such as OpenCV!!
