First Covid and now the war which will probably become World war 3. Despite trying my best to stay positive and work on my skills as a software engineer and a professional, it has really affected my will to keep grinding and hustling in life. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to stay motivated and on track.

Please tell me I’m not the only one feeling like this.

    If the USA and USSR were at war for half a century without dropping nukes on each other then this situation has a good chance of falling back into that stable state. Of course technology changed since then so it's not guaranteed, but pretty likely especially given the fact that both leaders are far too old to incorporate these strange new techniques in their strategy properly.

    I *sincerely* doubt this will turn into a world war

    Nope, you’re not alone at all in how you feel. The world didn’t need this crap right now that’s for sure (or ever really, but you get my point). I think we’ll avoid a full scale global war, but sure, the risk is there.

    It's not going to be world war 3. Just like Crimea wasn't world war 3. Just like Syria wasn't world war 3, etc etc.

    I know a lot of people here want to live out their survival/apocalypse fantasy but it's just not going to happen.

    People say your first "end of days" is hard, but for me it seems that the second is harder - is only on the second apocalipse that you realize everything good on your life can disappear in a snap.
    And it has always been like that.

    Seriously, the world is allergic to humans. One of those "even looking at the wrong vegetable will have you choking to death on your own guts" allergies.
    Some monster wanted to show that his dick was scary and bam! First Saddam war. Some jerk wanted to show people he owned them and bang! First world war. Some asshole wouldn't accept his wife left him and Troy burned for it.

    So yeah, everything is fickle and can end in a cloud of dust. So make your life worth it in the right now, even if it's just crying out loud. If you can make the future less crappy, do it. If you can't save the world all by yourself, know that better people have tried and failed just as hard. If you can't do shit, just don't be an asshole and you already deserve the harp and the wings.

    I just cant get over how a single individual can have such an impact, good or bad that is. Its just not right.

    @Hawei There are a lot of effects at play, Putin's power is derived from the oligarchs that run his press. If not for him there would probably be some other corrupt right-wing post-soviet Stalinlet leading Russia, and under NATO's pressure any right-wing autocrat would a thousand times rather start an insane and gory war than accept democratic reform - especially since no one in the world can guarantee that the reform would really be democratic. Reforms forced onto dictatorships with natural resources by the USA aren't democratic on global average.

    Covid narrative was losing steam. So they switched to to war to keep you in a state of fear. A fearful person is easier to manipulate and control.

    @Demolishun into doing what, exactly? Not demanding more money?
  • 0
    Very unlikely to develop into ww3. But yeah, It's tiring.
  • 0
    @jeeper giving up all your rights. Which a huge part of the population did just that. Yet these same pussies are saying they will fight a war.
  • 1
    Well, it already is world war 3.

    But this war is mainly an economic one. So no nukes - just endless suffering.

    @Demolishun To clarify what I am talking about:
  • 0
    @Demolishun you are either very brainwashed or very privileged or both.

    This is the artist @Demolishun cites as the source of his political views: https://instagram.com/krismattklint...

    And this is my favourite piece, denying the virus and climate change at once
  • 1
    Completely baseless and nonsensical conspiracy that isn't supported by any kind of statistic
  • 0
    Thankfully, statistics is a form of science and therefore false, am I right @Demolishun?

    @lbfalvy

    This is an interesting read:

    It's such a shame statistics is based on the same science as the field this whole forum, not just in topic but also in function. I wonder how you resolve this conundrum? Do you distinguish good and bad mathematics? Or is the quality of mathematics dependent on who does it? That latter one kind of conflicts with the absoluteness of truth which is - again - fundamental to computer science.

    @lbfalvy Are you making an assumption of what I believe based upon some MSM stereotype? That is perplexing and kind of unoriginal.
  • 0
    @Demolishun You cited a caricaturist, I'm enumerating their work to demonstrate how terrible an idea that is.
  • 0
    @lbfalvy The MSM pushes a "if you don't agree with us, then you are anti science". How is that not the definition of propaganda?
  • 0
    @Demolishun Mainstream media entities don't even agree with each other so you shouldn't portray them as a single entity
  • 0
    @Demolishun The article was interesting and thanks for sharing it, but climate change refers to an array of ongoing processes that are damaging the negative feedback loops that keep our planet's various balances. Lots of these are of chemical nature, for instance, the acidation of oceans is a direct result of increased CO1 and CO2 emissions which leads to mass extinction and cascade effects in fairly obvious ways that can be understood without prior training in ecology.

    @lbfalvy
    Yeah you are sure right but right now its this one guy going crazy and seemingly no one can do smth to stop him from killing people just because he fears to lose power. Its fucking frustrating.
  • 0
    @lbfalvy The same people saying its getting warmer are buying beach front property and flying in private jets. Just look at their houses (plural). I lost interest in their commitment to the environment when I saw their blatant hypocrisy.

    As for MSM being independent of each other:

    https://bitchute.com/video/...

    There are many videos like this. It is disturbing.

    @Demolishun This is great :D

    However, by mainstream media I was referring to all of mainstream media, not a carefully selected subsection of American media more than half of which is actually different channels operated by Fox News Media.
  • 0
    @Demolishun I also don't trust the politicians, but climate change isn't any less real and supported by science just because they happen to agree with it, and nor is the massive hike in deaths caused by the global pandemic, which should actually 100% be accounted to the pandemic because a person who died of prostate cancer because their doctor was busy with covid is also a victim of the pandemic.
  • 0
    @Demolishun then, go do science that proves them wrong. But don’t discredit the hard work do to make the world possible, including that it took scientists do make it possible for you to even read these half baked “alt” “opinions” on the INTERNET!
