I tried reproducing the bug and was only able to do so when I cut my internet connection halfway through loading the page.
So my best estimate would be, that the JSON was transmitted incompletely and thus was just printed.
@noodlemaster , genuine thanks for making me look up the word parsing. :)
Do you think they should do it like this or would you rather display nothing?
