Does it actually decrease performance in other apps? Then upgrade your 4gb stick of ram.

Free ram is useless ram, more things cached in memory means better performance.

People also keep so many tabs open... You can just ctrl-click select tabs, press ctrl-shift-D and temporarily group them into bookmark folder, so you can offload them from memory.

Thankfully I don't have an issue, 16gb ram is fine
