Also - too little info is bad, but too much info is even worse.

Try to get him to the point where he won't embarass himself. While still trusting you you, and the actual dba/dev for how to do things.

I made a 2 pager document and got 37 comments from my boss.

36 comments were about formatting, bold, commas, paragraph, etc.

I'd check out the BOFH on how to best deal with Managers.
