Love Arch! It's called a 'text based horror game' by many but I feel that's so unjustified. Arch makes you better at Linux and it runs perfectly with Gnome on old hardware. I got my 2009 laptop working with Arch and couldn't be happier.

And because it's Linux I installed all the latest versions of programs, and they work smoothly on it too. Usual load <5% CPU on a 2009 laptop is fantastic.
