Accidentally restored a months old backup because I thought the software was using imperial date formatting. I was wrong.

It's time that the imperial system died, especially in relation to dates.
The idiotic way of writing month/day/year makes it difficult knowing when something is happening, because most of the world uses the logical date formatting, day/month/year.
When you type out the date it's ok putting the month first, like this: June 5th.
But when you write an article/make a poster etc. in english, and write 6/5/17, you make it quite hard for people to know when something's happening.
Maybe that's why a lot of games are released late in a month, or on dates which match the month number, like 5/5 or 11/11.

@JTBringe Imperial system is the way to go, imo. Month is often the most important first information so if it is at the beginning it is easier to parse visually. At least for me.

@owithg Well, I think it makes more sense to list the date as day/month/year because you read it as small to large. Picture to illustrate what I mean:

It would be a huge relief for the whole world, if the US finally would have adopted the logical and natural metric system. It is so easy to use, I cannot imagine why the US is still clamping to this abomination...

@qbasic16 units of (non-time) measurement I completely agree. Meters are so much easier. Instead of 5280 feet in a mile, 1000 meters in a kilometer is nicer.
But month/day/year is sacred! It makes the most sense! It is checking that date is first in the correct month, than the day. Like a precheck.

Otherwise imperial datetime starting in the middle makes imho no sense at all...
