Generating SQL scripts using Excel. That's the practice at my company.

    My colleagues do this, i template a string in python and interpolate with data :D

    @Jumpshot44 ID's aren't automatic, so in Excel they save the latest ID introduced in the db, and then they insert the values of the fields. also, the excel has a page for each db table. you can imagine how much pages there are.

    I used to build complete "apps" in excell or access, just because the company policy did not allow our department to get a server.. no even a damned database somewhere so access had to do.

    Wow that's horrible. Even when I need to run a stored procedure against a bunch of tables with random names stored in the database I do so dynamically. Using excel for stuff would hurt my soul.
