Anyone here knows the history of dark theme?

Some Dev said fuck these dumb white backgrounds that are burning mine eyes. Made something with a dark background and it snowballed from there.
That's my guess at least :p

It began with vectorial screens for computers. Back then you only could have a black background.

When color screens came out most developers used black terminal backgrounds and switching from bright text editor and dark terminal made both harder to read, so most GUI IDE began to implement themes to match terminal color.

It was an ergonomy choice that snowballed into a trend
