I have 8g ram, core i3 .

Fedora user here. Can have the following without any trouble:
    Firefox with 60+ tabs
    VLC playing 3000 songs shuffled
    3 netbeans instances
    Multiple atom instances
Chromium with a few tabs (I hate chrome but chromium works well)
    10+ docs open in LibreOffice

    😅

    8GB ram! (i5)

@rehman Debian is stable at least but a little slow imo. It's just a battle of trying mostly, I've never had the slow problem on any distro I've ever used so can't tell much about that :/
