What if "WannaCry" was just a elaborate way for Microsoft to get people to upgrade to Windows 10?

😁😁😁

Such plan. Much conspiracy. Very Windows. So 10. Wow.

I guess it was a good point in the end for Microsoft yeah :p

Wannacry is a creation of the NSA. Its a modified version of ETERNALBLUE which; lets not forget was made to be used on U.S. (its own) citizens. Microshaft actually release a patch for end of life versions which, is unheard of. But I wouldnt have to much trouble believing a Microsoft+NSA partnership lol. Actually now that I think about it I would be surprised if they werent working together lol.

@kdev ...to make people update their windows.

@kdev Microsoft complained about this at a conference. They don't like it.

No one wants backdoors in their software.

According to the IT related news, MS created many elaborate ways during the last months to get people to leave windows behind. It seems they don't like to be OS manufacturer anymore.

They even neglected their main business segment, making a nice GUI on top of a worn out operating system every now and then so everybody thinks it's brand new.
Today even the average, non-tech user who was always happy with windows rants about it

@curlyDev there's sadly a whole gap of information / willingness to do bad thing between the programmers who have set (if they did) that backdoor, and the spokeperson that said they wouldn't in that conference.

@ddephor I think M$ should just forget windows and create another Linux distro, so Windows would basically just be the desktop environment. And what about windows software compability? They should just contribute to wine. That way people used to Windows feeling would use their distro, and people who are into other DE would just use wich distro they wanted while still being able to use the Windows software they are currently being held hostage for in Windows.

Unifor@BlasterJoni Symmetry is the devil. (I can't properly use that word, west has romanticised it) Contrast is beautiful. Let there be a lot of competing products even if some of them are shitty. Some competition is better than no competition.

@Jop- Exactly im still on Windows cause some of my games don't run on Linux and I'm too lazy to dual boot. Linux on the laptop tho.

So is every business. @Jop- What about Apple, can you use Xcode on Windows or Linux. You can't run Final Cut Pro anywhere else. They do what they need to out compete everyone else. Can't be chivalrous and be rich. Oracle has open sourced Java just because it has too many stakes in it. Windows has office for Mac and iPad just because it gets money through Office 365 subscription. Imagining no money is blissful but it's a long way in the future. Until AI takes over.

Microsoft has released a patch for legacy systems like XP.

So that's pretty decent of them

@BlasterJoni I like the idea of compatibility, but I don't think this will ever happen. Even the open source community cannot ensure proper compatibility in many places, although there is no pressure to invent unique features ignoring standards to gather market shares.

    1. It works to well to be made by miicrosoft
    2. Costumer support is to good to be from microsoft
  • 3
if their motive is to upgrade then they won't have released patch for XP and 8

PS they already have a malware built-in for upgrade why create another one πŸ˜‚
