    Just a noobie. Should instead say, I use Arch Linux and I must be cool. Ain't it right Mr. @linuxxx

    "I use Linux because it's open so it's my system, I can customize it to infinity and it works great for me"

    "I'm hating on linux, I must be cool"

    I rice linux, It must be cool.

    @linuxxx I can't first begin to learn all the quirks, understand and to get in. It's tiresome. Like in my case, if you'd tell me when I first started out that I'd had to type some vi .bashrc to change setting. I'd freak out. I started out Linux mint just because it was cool and made me feel like a hacker when I typed ls and cd to navigate.

    πŸ˜’It was a joke πŸ˜’

    "I use Linux because I enjoy spending hours customising my operating system only to change flavour a week later."

    "I use Linux because, I love installing a software for 3 days"

    😞 I'm a noob!

    @drRoss Tbh I used to do that. But I think I'm pretty stuck in my fedora/kali setup for now πŸ˜„

    @drRoss
    How does it feel having only one computer? I'm assuming you only have one because if you have multiple you can just endlessly install different distros as a "trial" on one and then just roll it out to the other machines when you find one that works really well

    @RiderExMachina W10 at work, macOS at home. But they're two very different use cases.

    I don't think running a Linux system is a claim of being cool. Who doesn't like customization/ricing? It's just that some systems allow it more than others. Only a matter of transparency and personal taste.

    @drRoss
    Does it pain you to be a < 3 computer scrub? You're not a real programmer unless you have 1x Windows PC, 1x Mac, 1x BSD PC, and endless Linux PCs.

    Best of all worlds, tbh fam.

    @RiderExMachina I only have Linux pc's πŸ˜“

    @RiderExMachina ah! Good 'ol Solaris, maite! You forgot that old guy.

    @RiderExMachina For what it's worth, I have a pfSense router (freeBSD), multiple Windows Server installations and Ubuntu Server installations.

    But I don't count them as desktops for obvious reasons, nor do I feel the need to talk about them NOR am I a programmer. Lastly, don't call me fam, you're not from London.

    @drRoss I genuinely didn't expect you to rub Ubuntu servers! What's your opinion on Ubuntu vs Cent Is servers if I may ask? (no trolling, really wondering)
  • 1
    @linuxxx It makes financial sense to run Linux sometimes. Plus, with PowerShell on Linux, that helps. Which, by the way, if you haven't used, you should definitely try. I find it much more intuitive than Bash.

    I don't really have an opinion on either, apart from the fact that I think if you work with RedHat in your job, you should stick with CentOS.

    I use Ubuntu for Linux servers because... Well why not? Updated regularly, alot of support resource available on the internet, etc.

    @drRoss Fair enough! Wasn't judging you at all, just wondering :). I use ubuntu, debian and centos for a lot of servers myself but I'm always open for new ideas

    @linuxxx I recommend checking out Nano Server, for what it's worth.

    @drRoss Will do tomorrow, thanks!

    @Dav13 I actually run kali on my pc and fedora on my laptop :). What advice would you like?
  • 4
    @drRoss Very late, fuck my memory but anyways, what license does Nano Server have?
  • 0
    @linuxxx Windows Server licensing, sadly.
  • 3
    @drRoss Ow that also means closed source, i guess? But thanks!
