I already know java, should I learn kotlin? I haven't developed anything for android yet
-
DrEmann2538yStart with Android + Java. It'll be easier to find and follow guides. When you're ready, everything you learned with Java transfers easily to kotlin
-
Fenix5997yJava is easier to understand in the beginning, because you will find so many tutorials out there using it, even though I would never want to use Java again since I got used to Kotlin. What programming languages do you already know?
-
Java. Kotlin will be a niche for a while then gone when the hype runs out. Java is everywhere.

@filthyranter ah thats cool. I have never been an Android developer so I hadn't really heard much about it until recently. My though just is that if you learn Java, that's everywhere and useful for more than Android. Maybe kotlin is too but I have no idea there.

@ninjatini Kotlin is way less verbose, better for devs that are a bit better than beginners (but not experts at all)
