JetBrains Fleet sucks!

It's absolutely gorgeous but it sucks, technically. I mean did nobody try to edit a YAML file with 2 spaces indent in there during development??

I wasn't even able to open a fucking project with it one time. And why in gods name does it go full macos with it's design?

Loving their IDEs, but da fuck's going on with this?

It looks better than vscode but that's it.

yeeaahhh... Opened a simple Node project and I can't find a way to open different files in different tabs. As I click on files, it opens them up in the same tab.

Also, the Search modal is no longer movable

IDK if I want to keep trying it further. I'm worried I can get disappointed even more

But the idea is nice. The AIO-pack in a single app. And the visuals are nice.

Had not heard from it yet. Looks interesting. Too bad it still sucks, but hey that's what betas are for.

@netikras yup, especially because it would be wonderful to have the same jetbrains experience for "quick edits".

@hjk101 exactly my thought, it looked beautiful and i had my hopes up very high.
But you're right, it's a beta after all. Might get better with time.

@netikras @nitwhiz it's a preview not even beta yet I would say They are very open about it. Https://blog.jetbrains.com/fleet/...

Of course it sucks. It took two decades for their old IDEs to mature that much. Give them a few years and Fleet will become the best IDE on the market. They certainly have the expertise.

Fleet... Lapce... What will be next?

Isn't it still in development stage? Hence why, free to use.

I am sticking to PHPStorm/Webstorm for now. I am switching for the fresher UI/experience when it has all the old IDE's features.

that's why you use Emacs 🤷‍♂️

@catholic-emacs you know as long as the cross isn't the right way around, i let you have your belief.

I never heard about this, I just opened the web page, looks exactly like IntelliJ, is there any significant difference?

@netikras sounds like the "preview tab"? Double click on file or modify the file content and the preview tab should become a normal tab.

@arcioneo It lacks A LOT of features right now compared to the other Jetbrain IDEs.

Main difference is all programming languages in one unified IDE + Cloud stuff

    @arcioneo are you high?

You essentially just said "this apple looks exactly like an xbox"
