Anyone have experience with using memcached for sessions? Talking about safe and fast user recognition between PHP and node.js

I use Redis for in-between app authentication, works great!

@linuxxx when I start my project about two years ago (lack of time, second set of eyes and graphic designers forced me to put it on hold) I was thinking about alternatives like Redis but to be honest I don't remember why I chose memcached.
Did you use Redis for shared sessions between PHP(backend for website) and Node.js(backend for realtime messages)?
