Scraped 10s of thousands of product images, descriptions, specifications and more based on a search query from Amazon, then created a CSV from all that data to be uploaded to another marketplace. It was for a client. Don't know how unethical it was.

I made a simple self replicating program which infected all the computers in my college's lab. Its work was to rename an important windows file on few specific dates and then revert them back the very next day.
The renaming stopped the windows to load its GUI and it stucked on DOS prompt.
Those specific dates were our practical exam dates. I basically gave everyone an extension of a week to study. Not to mention that they already knew what kind of questions the external faculty will ask.

PS: That's not even in the top 10 most unethical programs I wrote, but I am not proud of the others.

Didn't really make it, but it was a joke idea for a game. I'm pretty fucking sure if I described it here, this would be the most down voted comment on devRant.
Lol.. as tempting as that achievement sounds.. I'll pass

I was experimenting with making a DRM system on a platform where what I can do is limited. Not only that, its Java. So I made a quick native library in Rust, and realized that in DLLs and so files there are places where I can fit it some identification (in a DLL 0x20 to 0x2F is completely zeroed, and doesn't affect the execution of the program)

I mean it's not malicious but the premise could be used for bad...

@burmesepornstar I'm going to guess it had something to do with your name... Egads, curiosity genocides the cat...

Hmm, I wrote a proof of concept virus that avoided detection by overflowing its own stack and replacing the function's return address with the address of the function I wanted to call. In other words, return oriented programming. I never released it though.

@daveslater I don't think I'd be down voted for porn.. even if it's the burmese kind.

    No..

The game's name was... wait for it.. "Black Baby, White Baby" ROFL. I'll let you imagine the rest.

The idea came up in a humorous discussion of "what would go viral if made.."

I'm neither black nor white btw.

My guess is an Othello + Draughts clone, where you start either side of the apartheid and have to try and convert as many babies as possible to your race-God and commit mass skin-colour evangelism upon reaching your opponents side with majority colour. If you have minority players on board at reaching your opponents Base they get a chance to commit genocide upon you on the roll of a die to get six and remove all bar one of your players. Fail that, and the genocide challenger must forfeit half their players to dictator-controlled famine.
