Apparently Android Pay released for Canadians some time ago, because it's on the front page of the google play store. I really want to use it cause remembering to carry a card around is tough work, but I'm failing the safetynet check.

My only choice, it seems is to revert to a system where I don't have root. I was thinking of installing lineageos, but I'd be giving up some pretty serious things that I've gotten into with Resurrection Remix.

The fling navbar would be gone, I'd probably be able to deal with that but I just find it a way nicer experience than the traditional android navbar.

I might not be able to use Google Assistant, not sure if Lineage has it

And (worst of all), if I revert to a system without root, I won't be able to use my system-wide dark mode from substratum (I'd also be losing battery optimizing features from greenify, which is just another downside)

Existing Android Pay users, is this worth it?

If ever there was a reason to love Canada, this is it.

Am I the only one who has made a semi-functional compiled programming language because they're bored?

At some point I was watching a sethbling video about programming mining turtles in a Minecraft mod called computer craft, which uses a reimplementation of lua with some mod specific functions. This inspired me to learn lua, then as I got bored with that I started moving through different languages until I settled on primarily kotlin and rust

Just learned that Kotlin has extension properties to go along with its extension functions. Anything else I'm missing?

Google has a password reset procedure so intense, that even if I can sign into my recovery account and give them the code from there, use 2 factor auth and give them the code from there, tell them my recovery phone(s) number(s), give them my mother's father's mother's late cousin twice removed daughter's maiden name, and whatever other security measures were set in place, I can't get a fucking password reset. Thanks Google, fuck you.

The most fun I ever had coding was when I first discovered Kotlin. After using java for most of the time I've been programming, Kotlin felt like a godsend. When working on converting one of my old projects, I was amazed by the reduced verbosity and just how clean it felt.

To any devs that still use java at all, do yourself a favour and take a look at Kotlin (kotlinlang.org)

I'm currently sitting in a hockey arena owned by my city, they offer free wifi, and cause I'm privacy conscious, I try to download a VPN for my computer. The motherfuckers block the download under the vague "violation of use policy" bullshit. Even better, I read the ToS they give you when you connect, and it says sweet fuck all about prohibiting downloads. What the fucking fuck do you have to gain from me not using a god damn VPN. It just makes no god damn sense.

Is it worth doing a computer programming course in school (going in with 3 years experience) for the grades?
