You try and tell us how it goes. Been curious about the same thing previously (before I decided I wanted zilch to do with anything JVM related)… nowadays I just go ”Let me write this shit in F# and compile down to {target lang}” coz it’s the least painful that way 🤷🏻♂️

One benefit for using Kotlin, would be it's multiplatform capabilities. You could share code between platforms.
