You know chrome is bloated when it needs its own dedicated task manager.

Browsers run each tab and extension in individual processes so if anything fails it does not break all other tasks.

In this scenario, a damn task manager is needed, just as in your OS.
Nowdays, a standard user opens chrome and does everything on it, calendar, docs, spreadsheets, chat, every single little thing.
