penguin20098yDid you follow all the steps to add the spotify repo?
You have to 1. Add their key 2. Add the repo 3. Update repos and finally you can install.
https://spotify.com/us/download/... -
Command line is your best friend.
You gotta add the repo first, then install it
Have fun with Ubuntu, you'll learn to enjoy it! -
@WebDev-Rabbit
Did you run apt-get update after installinf the repository? What about [apt-get update && apt-get upgrade] and then try installing? -
penguin20098y@WebDev-Rabbit What's the actual error?
Is it "Unable to locate package spotify-client" ? -
penguin20098y@Jop- No, installing it lets you control your music with shortkeys, also Spotify shows up in the power drop-down in unity with all controls which is nice.

I do prefer more of a Windows client look or Linux mint feel. Is that what KDE is?@jepp73 @ScribeOfGoD

By the way, I got it working everyone. Did a system reboot, retried, and it worked

Sort of. It looks a bit like Windows, but has none of the hotkeys. If you enjoy the Windows hotkey bindings, Cinnamon is what you want to go with. However, I'd stay away from Ubuntu/Debian based distros.
Personally I recommend Korora (Fedora based) or Antergos (Arch based), both of which have a Cinnamon flavor (and KDE). Really, Linux is for trying out new things and sticking with what you like -
I'm interested in the arch Linux system. Would Manjaro be a good distro to try? @RiderExMachina
-
@WebDev-Rabbit
It's nice, but uses the XFCE desktop by default and doesn't use the AUR by default. If you're a noob, I'd stick with Antergos. If you have some Linux under your belt, then go for it -
@RiderExMachina @WebDev-Rabbit try this link https://manjaro.org/community-editi...
oh! If you want to use AUR just install yaourt. https://ostechnix.com/install-yaour...
Yaourt is just a simpler way to use AUR instead of having to download the PKGBUILD file, build it and install the program. -
@troopy712139
I just install yaourt and base-devel after a Manjaro install... -
@RiderExMachina haha I do that on Arch. Since I prefer installing what I want on my linux
