Huuugo25058yI have the Lenovo Y50-70 for two years now and I still love it. Best performance to price ratio and the quality is okay too. Avaliable in different configurations, but I would go for HD screen (no UHD) and an SSD. No idea whether there already is a next model in the series, but the Y50-70 is still up to date and on the market

Azer0s3048yI have the Lenovo Yoga 500 and I absolutely love it! It is a convertible laptop and has touch and it might take some time until you get used to using touch and tablet mode (took me 2 weeks) but after that you don't ever want to go back to a non-touch device because working on it is just so amazing.😊

albi11688yI've been using an MSI GE70 for about 3 years during my DEC in computer science, but a 17 inch laptop isn't what I really call "portable". So I recently bought a used Thinkpad x201 and installed fedora on it and it just makes a great portable working machine.

+1 for the lenovo y50-70. Have it too. Though I will be upgrading the ram to 16gb so that there's more ram for Android Studio to make disappear

@elonmusk According to Microsoft's website the starting price is 1500$, and that's a pretty crappy configuration...

Hey devRanters! I need some help looking for a powerful laptop around (or obviously less than) $1000. Cousin recently stepped on my old reliable laptop and figured it was time for an upgrade. Any suggestions / experiences with your own laptops?
