Making a Snake game. Let me explain.. I had just "finished"(We all know there is no finishing side projects) my first big, at least for me, project. An io game called torpedoed.fun [http://torpedoed.fun]. And yes, it is a desktop only, and also yes, it is not that fun of a game. Torpedoed.fun taught me a lot about developing such as how to debug effectively, backend communication, how to host a website, planning, and much more. After learning all this from torpedoed.fun, I decided to start a new project, a simple clone of the classic Snake game. I, to my surprise, was able to immediately think of several ways of implementing various parts of the game. I developed the entire game in the span of a few hours with hardly any problems! This experience of developing without constantly debugging every line of code felt amazing. If I wasn't addicted to programming before that Snake game, I was afterwards!

Not learning unit testing... I've heard so many good things about them, but I've never learned how to inple.e t and use them.
Maybe I can start now, can anyone point me in the write direction?4 -
The time I implemented a variable timer in my game on NodeJS. I noticed it would not always run at 60 fps depending on the machine. I implemented a check to see if the fps is above or below 60. If the fps was above I added more time between each run, if it was lower I shortened the time(to a limit). Sure it is a bit hacky but it worked well. As an added bonus the check runs every loop so even if another program is started and slows down the machine, the game can speed back up to 60 fps.3

That moment when you copy something then hit ctrl+c instead of ctrl+v to paste and realize what you have done a split second later... Every time I do this a little part of me dies7

I've gotten to the point devRant is taking free time away from my personal projects... 😢 What should I DO??? Guess it's time to make an effort to cut down on devRant time

NodeJS just spat an error about an unexpected parenthese on line 57... the file only had 56 lines...
I did find the error after about 5 minutes later. Near the top I has forgotten to close a function... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯1 -
Hey devRanters! I need some help looking for a powerful laptop around (or obviously less than) $1000. Cousin recently stepped on my old reliable laptop and figured it was time for an upgrade. Any suggestions / experiences with your own laptops?11

A rant from git,
Why do developers always PUSH and PULL me around. I mean they don't just do it once or twice. No they COMMIT to doing it over and over. I try to REBUILD myself, but it is hard getting pushed and pulled constantly. I don't know the ORIGIN of where it started, but gosh I wish the bullying never started! -
No internet! I have been without home WiFi for a week now and I can't download big files over my hotspot as it is expensive. I need to download a Raspbian image for my Raspberry Pi but it is ~1 gigabyte. Been needing to get my Raspberry Pi set up to turn it into a server for a site I am currently creating.6

What is with all the recent picture posts! If a post is literally just a picture with no text, it was probably stolen off the web and posted here. These posts seem very low effort. Please if you are making a picture post, make sure it is oc! I am tired of seeing something on Reddit or some other site, them seeing it here a few days later!!2

I hate it when I am looking online at someone else's code where they thought they could just paste 50+ lines of code with no formatting! Or even worse, the sites desktop app has formatting, but on mobile, the app just smashes everything together. Does anyone else have this problem?

tldr: Deleted Win10, turned out for better

So one day I decide I have had enough of Windows 10 and wanted to go back to Linux (A long time ago I had dual booted Ubuntu, but messed it up changing video drivers). So I create a Mint installation USB and get to work. I boot up the installation and delete the old partitions from the Ubuntu install. I install Mint and boot it up, everything works fine and dandy! I decide I want to get back on Windows to get back a few files that I wanted copies over. I turn off the computer and *try* to boot up Windows. I get an error message that I am UNABLE to boot. WHAT! After further checking, I realize that I had deleted the MBR partition of Windows. Pretty sure I could remake it if I tried hard enough, but I am starting to realize that it feels good to be totally MS independent! Now I am using all open-source software available to Linux and have no need for Windows. I do miss some of the games though...
PS: No files were lost due to backups. Save Lives, Do Backups! -
WHATTT?!! I need 10 WHOLE POINTS JUST TO BUILD AN AVATAR!!! What kind of person would set such a high amount of points just to CREATE AN AVATAR! Do you know how hard that is for an introvert... ugg What kind of post should I rant about? I could rant about that one problem with HTML <divs>.. but then everyone would laugh at how simple that was... I could rant about how long I have had to live without this app. No no that would be way to big of a rant... hmmm. OH I KNOW!37
