    We ran a survey a couple months ago, asked how many years of professional work experience as a programmer people had, 2.2% said they were not programmers

    @jschmold
    I wonder how many devs that could keep their jobs without a foking sysadmin
  • 1
    @jschmold seeing as they setup the servers, keep them running and give the devs their permissions, I kinda agree 😂

    @jschmold I dev my own projects in free time and I am going to college to become a sys admin.
    Guess having no friends naturally evolved into being my own friend.
    After which I plan on getting my LPI, CCNA and some Micro$oft certs.
    Then I might look into becoming full stack developer with some languages that are popular in that timeframe.

    I do develop programs for my job as I'm asked to do so but my job is not being a software engineer or programmer. I'd be very interested to know how many people here are developers with no programming background (like some people in economics or natural science or engineering), might show how much the "IT revolution" has influenced all industries.
