If you're not connected to anything and never insert any external memory everything could be virus proof. However the seller is just stupid.

Record that conversation, take your new machine home and infect it with viruses, then take it back and complain. Play the recorded conversation back to him, and insist he connects your computer to his network (after all, no windows machine on the network could possibly get infected!). Finally, demand a half refund for lying to you, then take your machine back home, wipe, and install your OS of choice on your half price machine!

A lot of people here use PCSpecialist, you basically pick out the parts you want and they build a laptop for you. You can exclude windows to save a bit of money

I visited Romania. They sell most laptops here with Linux (and sometimes Dos) and rarely with windows.

Also the distros seems random. Most are Ubuntu, some are Mint, some are openSUSE and I also saw Manjaro.

Mac is virus proof...oh wait

@Noob well I got my laptop with a less known distro that tried to imitate Windows XP in design. I think it was Ubuntu based.
