It's 100 for the site and 75 for hosting and maintenance?
You got me curious, what kind of site is this? -
Linux438107yI would do this:
Turn something off, pretend to be outside. And when they call, tell them that you can take a look at it tomorrow because they havent paid. -
@MisterArie yep that's true it's a Scottish clan website (they want to show pictures, have a calendar, forums and contact forms). I know I underpriced on this "client" but I was younger and stupider
-
@Linux I have already removed their login access, so they can just see the site but not edit it. I wish this client wasn't a friend since it would be a ton easier to fire.
-
@Linux completely agree but technically they aren't paying, the director of the clan is paying (who seems to be hard to reach)
-
@inpothet no actually that's cheap compared to what other companies charge. I use a vps with each client so they get full use of the resources.
-
@ghammond what are the specs of the vps because the VPS's that I have seen for 75 have a min of 32gb ram
-
@inpothet it's $15 per month (CAD) , but the specs are 1gb of ram, 1 core processor and 30gb of ssd disk space
-
Tomorrow I'm sending the "It looks like this isn't going to work out" email and giving them just over a week to decide. I now hate this "friend" /client but if they want to pay me the rates I've quoted (for hosting and maintenance) then I will be happy to have them back.
Related Rants
I've had a client for 3 months now and they still haven't paid ($100 just for the site) and are surprised at the monthly cost (they wanted site hosting and maintenance which comes out to $75/month) and I want to fire them without burning bridges since the main person is a friend.
