Kdaydin5567yNon-carbonated sugar water? Sugar has no place in coffee. But yeah most coffees on the market are close enough to be called shit-juice
-
donuts236757y@Kdaydin so maybe acquired taste? Too me it just tastes bitter + since odd sweet n sour taste and exotic name which separates premium from regular...
-
Kdaydin5567y@billgates if you can find fresh grounded turkish coffee, give it shot. Either traditional way or french press.
-
devios157017yYou can't just throw ice in a coffee and pretend it's the same thing. Iced coffee is a whole different thing from hot coffee. Personally I can't stand it. Now iced tea on the other hand…
-
donuts236757ySpeaking of coffee I just went to McDonald's and ordered lunch : crispy chicken burger and French vanilla ice coffee.
Aka sugar water + junk food...
Well apparently the counter lady I guess wanted me to eat healthier.
I actually got grilled chicken and coffee that doesn't taste as sweet as the usual one.
So now I'm feeling lol/orz -
jeeper58107y@billgates as an avid coffee drinker, I can say it definitely grows on you, but also that there are some pallets that will never like black coffee. While hot and chilled coffee are good, the only think that's really good in the cold coffee world is cold brew. It's a long steeping process and not as acidic as chilled coffee that was brewed hot. Also icing coffee is nearly impossible to get right. You have to have lots of ice and get it cold fast and brew it strong. If you want more random coffee facts and opinions let me know.

@billgates There's a chain store here called Hema and I fucking love all their coffee products, especially the dark roast espresso beans 😍
-
donuts236757y@inpothet hmm... so coffee + expensive bug == good?
I guess I can sorta see how that would make the coffee taste good... -
donuts236757y@magicleon I don't, I buy em and maybe use a coffee maker.
But to me without creamer it's just bitter tasting... Even the most expensive ones... -
donuts236757y@inpothet lol... But Starbucks was where I got the unicorn as well as a strawberry frappe but those were pretty much expensive sugar water...
-
donuts236757y@jeeper so what should I get? Honestly when back in college, I had a dining card, spent all the leftover $$ at Starbucks but just different forms of sugar water + chocolate
-
jeeper58107y@billgates when both my caffeine craving and sweet-tooth call I get a java chip frapp with soy. You might also sample the sweet cream and/or coconut cold brew.
-
@billgates have you actually tried ordering coffee drinks like caramel macchiato or an actual cup of coffee instead of sugar water
-
donuts236757y@inpothet I tried a white Chocolate something and some pumpkin spice one...
But anyways, what would you recommend? -
donuts236757y@devios1 grande what? That's a medium something right?
I don't use these words, I just say "large... "
So what do I say I'm page of the... ? -
devios157017yWell literally "grande" means large, but it's the middle size, so go figure. Starbucks likes to be cool with their Italian sizes.
Not sure what you mean… page of what? -
donuts236757y@devios1 sorry... Autocorrect.....
What drinks should i try?
I think what I originally wanted to say was: What exactly should I tell the barista -
devios157017y@billgates Well if you want actual coffee coffee I do like the blonde roast at Starbucks, but beware it's quite strong. It'll definitely wake ya up.
I'm not sure if they have it everywhere, but it's quite popular here in Canada.
Tbh though I go to Tim Hortons more than Starbucks. That's probably just the Canadian in me. We do love our Timmy's. -
devios157017y@billgates You're thinking of espresso, which is also delicious but that's basically concentrated coffee.
I just drink regular drip coffee most of the time, and usually a pretty big cup of it. -
devios157017yWhat @magicleon posted above, that's espresso. Which I guess is just normal coffee in Italy.
Pretty sure they think our coffee is basically water. -
@devios1 no disrespect here, but I think so :( I've been to UK and USA, tried your coffee but I did not like it. Cappuccino can be quite good sometimes, but coffee well, I don't like it. My mom sometimes drinks "America coffee" on the other side, claiming "it's only a different beverage" lol the only thing I really hate is Starbucks frappucino. That is horrible 😶
-
jeeper58107y@devios1 Na I often get a venti dark roast plain but @billgates definitely would not like that
-
@billgates when I get coffee I usually get an caramel macchiato venti or a black filter
So for Father's Day I bought my dad premium coffee (Single Origin, Now Bottle Voyager pack). Very expensive even compared to Starbucks...
We brewed a few but they taste like crap. I thought he was doing it wrong. So today I dropped by the store and brought myself a cup that they made to see how the pros do it...
Well this is what I got for $5... And it also tastes like crap...
So now my question is do we actually like drinking coffee or non-carbonated sugar water that we call coffee?
