Hey. I think this is a good advice and I will try that.
Problem is mainly that I cannot start focusing on actually doing something because I think too much about structure because I am so used to that from everyday work.
I need to come to a mindset where I know that it does not matter for a private project if the structure is not optimal because it is a small one time Project. -
@DelError or you start by laying out the structure, I personally like to do that on paper, and then divide the project into little parts and problems based on that structure

I often do that. But during the week, when I come home after doing some other activity it is usually so late, due to the fact that I am at home after work at 6pm earliest, that there is not really time left to start programming.
But yeah, you're right with this one: doing something else and getting the head clear is important. -

Yeah, I know that and do that. But I try to keep it usually as expandable as possible, because oh there might be some feature later in which is more easily added then and so on. But this is usually not necessary for small private projects.
What I mean is: I usually bloat it with mights and coulds instead of focusing on having something working first with a structure which is still fine. -

I could also try that with German words but I highly doubt that it sounds nice afterwards 😉 -
@DelError The reason I use Japanese is because not many know it so the names sound rather creative (using German would be weird for me since I am german)

@SHA-256 but there are more prople speaking japanese than german. Still, I a gree german words aren't that beautiful to use as names

I guess with "not many know it" he means that not many people he knows and/or works with know Japanese, so it sounds more uncommon to them.

Yeah, same for me. That's what I meant. "Katze" seems to be an awkward project name, but "neko" sounds already better.
But that is just the case because it is less common for our ears. 😁
Came home from work.
Turned on pc to start a small project because I got an idea I liked.
Picked my music for programming.
Opened eclipse -> new project -> maven project
UI asks for group and archetype Id. Can't think of a nice name right away
"Let's browse devRant for one or two posts"
That was at least 40 minutes ago. Still browsing.
Since I started working it is really hard for me to do any private projects. But I really want to.
Any suggestions?
