Ah yeah ok, I have heard this before actually. I employ a similar approach: I open up a text file and pretend I'm writing a book or article to someone. Having to organize my thoughts sequentially forces me to understand wtf I'm talking about.

@devios1 that sounds interesting.

@jackgreen It works, I highly recommend it. Plus you have a record of your train of thought so you can go back and find something you were thinking about earlier if you forget.

Now if only I could figure out what to do with these 500 pages of notes I've taken!

I used to actually do this with physical pen and paper, and would often go to the cafe just to think problems out (no computer in sight). I'd occasionally have people come up to me and ask me if I was writing a novel. I'd say no, I'm programming. 😂
