So I just turned my laptop on... I'm so screwed

    @gitpush nah The battery ran out wile FileVault was encrypting encrypting. Thankfully I only just did a fresh OS install so all is good

    @gitpush sure was. I usually keep important docs in the cloud cause I'm a master of somehow corrupting HDD

    @stucow use time machine to back up to an external, plug it in every couple of days and let it run. Seriously. Can't tell you the peace of mind that comes with regular backups.

    I actually went to buy a Touch bar one from Apple retail store some months ago in Dubai and I just asked them to set it up for me. Found out this screen. I was leaving the country the next day, and if I didn’t tell the Apple staff to set it up for me I had a damaged MacBook now...

    @nosoup4u what if external dies? Isn't it safer to store in cloud?

    @HoloDreamer nothing is infallible. Whatever works. Personally, I make at least one on site backup that I can physically access if I need to; if I didn't have internet access at the time, for instance.

    Update time: Got the bloody thing up and running again. Re-Installed Sierra no problems
