!rant The end of the world arrives. I have an 8GB Flash USB drive on my keychain. What hacker-ish/prepper stuff should I have already installed on it to take control and survive the apocalypse? Aaaaand...GO!

    Linux liveCD with persistent storage and a custom build with your most used programs. But if you don't know, just go with Kali or Tails and add in what the other one's missing. Important not only because of hacking stuff, but because you can boot into any computer, do your work, and have it with you without needing to bring a computer, charger, etc. You'll be 100% mobile and good to go anytime, anywhere, zero drag.

    I'd say porn..

    Imagine years in the apocalypse and you're roaming the lands looking for supplies and suddenly you find a stranger doing the same. Bet your ass he trades his glock for "Naughty Neughbours 7".

    @620hun .... well this exists
    how does it work??

    @chadd17 You boot to it, it does its thing and you can leave password fields empty and Windows will accept them. On restart everything goes back to normal. We used this to give admin rights to ourselves in secondary school 😂

    @620hun no, not what does it do. How does it work? How is it even legal for that matter?

    @620hun sounds like dark magic

    @chadd17 it basically boots windows in a recovery mode, opens cmd and sets a tmp password (at least that's how I would do it and you can find tuts for it on Youtube). However, since a lot of win 10 users will use their Windows Live account to login, there it won't do shit (maybe activate a local admin or something though)

    @chadd17 I have no idea. It's probably legal to use as a password recovery tool, and illegal to hack into others' account.

    Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I was surprised nobody mentioned anything about bitcoin, but maybe that's outside the scope of USB drives if there's not a reliable Internet connection.

    So it doesn't work with live accounts. Interesting. First argument I've heard for getting one

    I'd fill it with a digital copy of the bible, so from the ashes, a new civilization can arise, build on the basics of our beloved... well i may have changed some parts to make it more fun ;-D

    @CWins wouldn't just a few good books make more sense? Like oscar wild the importance of being ernest or franz kafka?

    You're right. But as good old Voltaire said: if god didn't exist, he had to be created.

    People just love their set of rules they can force upon others while feeling morally superior doing do. Without the bible, they would create their own, so i can give them the old one as well ( with some changes, like removing some of the really narrow minded stuff and rename the apostles to Rick & Morty & Co.)
