Me or the devRant Community has started to change.

Posted yesterday a offer for a lifetime VPN Supscription for 50$.

Got a lot of Downvotes for it and removed it.

Before I always saw people asking for good VPN alternatives or cheap hosts, that's why I posted it.

But you get Downvotes to give people a offer, which they always ask about?

That's a Paradoxon. Really don't get it 😂

I don't know specifically what was posted, but really, anything that involves a direct link to buy something might not be received well in general.

I don't think the devRant community has changed about this - I honestly can't remember any rants linking directly to any purchases ever scoring well.

And that's not to say it wasn't improperly downvoted - which wouldn't be allowed. I'm always happy to take a look at downvotes, but it's 100% necessary that you leave the rant as-is or else there's literally nothing I can do.

Everyone knows trying to sell something in a forum / community environment just looks like spam / free advertising.

Maybe I rephrased it wrong, but next time not gonna post a offer or just rephrase it with a disclaimer at the botom:

I have problems communicating, so I sound like a bit of a dick, don't take it personally...

People expect you to at least be trying to have your shit together. If your job is to advertise for any software or company, I'd suggest not expecting great reception amongst social circles like this one. If that's not your job, I wouldn't really expect an affiliate link, as affiliate marketing is usually something you don't just barely dip your ass into.

All of this is out of context though, because I can't see the original post. By the way, if there's clearly somewhere to put a ref code, the same amount of people that would have clicked your link would have come back to the rant to get yours.

It's lifetime, but you need to write all 10 years a Mail to the support, to renew it for 10 years. Thats kinda stupid
