Went from notepad++(and it’s mac equivalent Brackets) to Dreamweaver CC and VS Code.
Feels good man!

Oh. So people do use dreamweaver. My bad.

Brackets is cross-platform and, IMO better than Dreamweaver. But you do you!

    Why Dreamweaver though?

@codepoet Still trial and kinda happy. Chrome inspect is useful too.
Brackets is just a editor which was only colored not other functions like auto complete.
I will be happy if anyone can offer me some better tool other than dreamweaver because I am more into backend not frontend development and I am kinda bad designer.

@just-basic-user The good thing with brackets is its never ending possibilities. If you didn't install any extension you were doing it wrong. But yeah Brackets is more for Front End than back end. Personnally I quite like Atom

    @Enewia looks good, thank you.

@just-basic-user Be careful though when you open large files on atom. It makes my linter bug out sometimes :/

    well, to answer your question.
forget, for ev-er, everything from adobe.

you have to try, customise and read docs :
    - atom
    - sublime text 3
    - visual studio code
    - brackets
    - vim (depends on your OS and if you have a soul)

after that you can make your choice.

all of them can be used with plugin to fit with your preferences

IDE are our main tools. we have to survey then, keep an eye on evolutions.
