Why devRant didnt use the Material Design for its own Application ?? this design is not cool ... 😞

Because I think it's an hybrid app and the framework either doesn't have Material Design or simply didn't look good on the iPhone. That's my guess.

@angelorm if they didnt make this with the google Android Studio , i think they use Xamarin Crossplatform . but it have Material Design too ...

i like the design, the look & feel of devrant, it has character.
Material Design is the death of creativity and devrant is not a google product so why should it look like it?

@heyheni Material isn't the death of design. It's just not intended for lazy designers or people who don't know what they're doing. But I'm quite content with the devrant design. It's simple, but intuitive.

@heyheni that Navigation Drawer is very bad . it doesnt work with swipe .

@randyerfan they could have used Cordova too. I've seen @dfox talk about this but I don't remember now.

@crazyidiot sure not for design. But design trends are bad for creativity. It makes people lazy because they dont have to come up with own (maybe new & better) ideas.
No doubt it's a good thing that a company's apps look consistant but that doesn't mean everybody should copy the look without a thought.
