When you automate so much stuffs that you forget where the config files are at.

I know this world all too well. I have a cloud server that I store most of my config on though - because when all is said and done - I am either not going to give a fuck where the config files are, or I am going to forget (usually in a time most dire). Hopefully it never reaches the stage when I feel both of the above at once.

@ragnarr023 true, but that's just one server. Imagine you're writing code that'll be pushed to couple of hundreds of servers. And you can't just rely on puppet because it had a history of bad mess up in our infrastructure.
