I have always considered myself as a tab person.
I was living my happy life thinking spaces didn't make sense in code.
This until last week, when I realised intellij is automatically putting 4 spaces instead of tabs
I feel betrayed

Felt just as betrayed when pylint riddled my code with flags for using tabs. Why do people want to look tabs !? The only reason to use spaces over tabs would be to make accidental whitespace removal more obvious, but that's at the cost of freedom for the indenting display.

You thought people who use spaces actually typed the spacebar 2/4/8 times? Type tab, generate space.

Well the option is there so I suppose someone must. It is even the default in some editors to use 8.
