I know it's not to do with the rant, but I can't help myself.

Got call from a friend 2 months ago. 'My website is fucked!! HELP ME!!'. So we met and he showed me what he has done. I was amazed. 5yrs old. No dev, no staging. Another guy from brazil had developed this whole mess on prod. There was no git, db backup, nothing. The guy from brazil was long gone.

What has he done? He downloaded one php class from prod, changed it, uploaded it, had no backup and the whole thing crashed. So i had do revert his changes by hand.

He had the guts to ask me to rewrite the whole site - for free. I declined. I haven't seen him since then.
