Ive stayed od code for a year or so. Was depresses and when I started programming again I forgot all my bad habits so I became a better programmer.

It's like being trapped at the bottom of a pit where the sides seem to get taller everyday. Eventually the hallucinations start, rubber duckies endlessly describing their code problems to you but you can't remember how to code, your powerless to help.
When the madness cements and you realise you will never see code again they move you into a systems role (aka death, aka software dev purgatory, see posts above) :(
