I start to dislike programming. I used to love it. Chased by deadline, bill, family pressure, etc. Not sure what to do. Switch career?

Do a meaningful nice personal project. I know it's tough to do that on top of working your ass off for your career at the same time. But if you only do corporate code you will lose interest in programming, learning and building new things

I've had a similar feeling a couple of times but I always come back around. Of course we are two different people, but maybe your current position isn't fulfilling enough? Perhaps trying a different focus in development or management may be more appropriate to your goals and needs?

    Good luck.

Doesn't sound like the act of programming is the problem but rather the situation is unhealthy.

Quitting to be a dev is not a solution because you still need a job, and finding a company with a healthy work environment isn't that easy either, even more so if you decide not to use your acquired skills.

If you're working in a service based company, it's time to switch to a product based company.
