I don't want to start any wars in the comments, but what do you devs prefer: iOS or Android?

I'm not saying one is better. I'm just genuinely curious what other devs use. I prefer to use Android because I can do more with my phone.

I'm actually curious what most of you use, so feel free to tag other ranters you know in the comments. I've already commented the few I could come up with off the top of my head.

I personally use iOS but I haven't had any experience with Android. iOS is just the market I am targeting currently.

I was iOS until recently. Loving my Android now.

@Sydochen have always been an android fan. No actual hate to Apple, i can see how it's the phone to others, but there are many little things i love about android.

I started with the Motorola droid razr, and switched to Samsung because i was unhappy with Motorola. I don't do much in terms of programming on it, but i do *almost* everything else.

I have backup phones for friends who app dev and it works out so there's a good mix for them to test on without killing their accounts or fighting with their company.

@MissDirection similar situation here. I had an iPhone 5 and desperately needed an upgrade. I wanted the iPhone 7, but once I saw the S7, I figured I'd give a good Android a try (all other Androids I previously had were cheap crap). I'm loving it.

Was iOS from the 3GS all the way up to the iPhone 6.
Moved to Android with the OnePlus One and now on a Xiaomi Mi5. The Chinese sure do make some quality phones!
Android is just much more flexible than iOS when they are both stock.

Android. No wars needed. My phone does just about everything minus having an fm chip like my old Samsung Galaxy. One plus 3t why do you forsake the fm chip

    Android.
I prefer it because it is cheaper, and can do more on my opinion 😎

Android is love, Android is life.

Seriously, fuck Apple and their overpriced jails filled with gold-coated shit.

Android, because I'm a Google Fanboy and Apple is not worth the money anymore, since they don't deliver new innovations.

Started out with android on my HTC HD2 (a Windows mobile phone that got a lot of custom Rom development).

Since moved to Galaxy Note then Galaxy Note 3 and now a HTC U Ultra.

Always run rooted (not even sure what stock android looks like now) and always with a custom Rom if I can.

I just love the fact I can tailor it to my needs the way I can.

I've had windows (shit shit shit so 8.1 and 10), iOS (well and iPad but it was a substitute for a computer and was OK) it and an android phone (currant and can't say enough good things about it). Android is flexible, iOS is locked down but ok for simple tasks and basic coding. Windows phone is just a cesspit of half finished ideas and bugs. It had potential but not so much now

    Android.

While I have respect for how apple is able to push the hardware, for example being the ones to finally break the HD resolution crap on laptops.
BUT I feel that their development and distribution platforms are rather 3rd party dev hostile, so I'm voting with my wallet.

I started w the iPhone 3G back in 2008, it was magical and for a few years the Android counterparts were really rough, but I switched to Android in 2011 and stuck with it ever since. I have an iPhone test device, it's fine. But at this point, the reasonably sized iPhone (not giant plus) has lower resolution, is more expensive, apps are pretty equivalent (not so for the early years with iOS only apps), no universal back button (it's the #1 clicked button on web for a reason) and fuck iTunes.

@trogus the back button is one of my many needs. And the removable storage.
