Wtf. My mobiles 4 core CPU by default is clocked at 1190MHz. So I just wanted to see if I can over clock it a little (coz why not) and edited some stuff in my kernel. Now it runs stable at 2265MHz.... I mean.... Why the fuck didn't they apply that by default if its possible?

    cool! 👍😎

    yeah because it drains the battery and the heat does wear off the processor and battery?

    @Haxk20 mine clocks down to 300MHz if I don't need it 🤔didnt have any problems with battery drain yet.

    These ARM CPU's will happily clock quite extremely all around. I tend to clock mine down quite a bit because battery life ow yeah

    Probably because they can not ensure stability at those speeds for every chip they produce. And off course battery life and heat production. The last one especially because a li-ion battery is close by and that can explode when applied with heat.

    So if you don't respond to this we all know what happened to your phone ;)

    (but seriously, li-ion and heat is seriously a bad idea)

    @micfort CPU is at 50-60°C. Is that bad for a mobile CPU/battery?

    @b3b3 Not if you're fishing in Antarctica

    @CodeKill sadly I'm fishing bugs in Germany only :/ I guess I'll just see what happens💃

    Naaa everybody... Everything's fine. Battery max temp is 30-40 with max display+cpu

    Snapdragon 800?

    @RAZERZ tbh I don't know. I could download a tool but I don't have internet fast enough for that right now :( it's a nexus 5

    @b3b3 yeah I believe its something like that if it's the Nexus 5. The thing with this generation of Snapdragon chips are that they tend to get hot. Sort of like the amd of arm CPUs.

    @RAZERZ I'll keep that in mind and run some stress tests later. If I notice any kind of hot temps on the CPU I'll just reset it but for now I'm really happy with it since it doesn't seem to drain my battery more than normal
