Everything about the website tells you it is a place where you can ask until you actually do ask and get flamed and closed for asking a duplicate question.
If you have a "novel" question you'll get a few not answering your question but instead saying just use lib X or complete wrong answers.
Honestly I'd rather chatGPT instead of being flamed down for not knowing everything.
Anyhow SO is dying last I heard people not willing to deal with karmawhores opt for AI solutions. -
iceb11751yInteresting. I used stackoverflow A Lot when i was doing c# work. Now i'm working with python. I rarely had to use SO
-
retoor118991y@iceb that's because python is easy as f. It's perfect. Even performance is good these days
-
@iceb like i said, mostly people using it for the first time in their life because some small part of their work requires it, and they assume stackoverflow is like an online IT helpdesk (and perhaps that's how they think all programming works???)
-
retoor118991y@fullstackcircus they just don't care. I always put in effort and aim for high stability but it's a lost cause. I think using React is already sign of failed programmer. Just not capable to valuate the systems they're working with. That's a skill too.
All I said about Rust was just to piss people off. It's cool stuff but weird syntax. The react thing - I'm dead serious

stackoverflow should just be called pythonoverflow
because that's all it is, scrub / lazy wannabe "programmers" asking basic python questions they could find the answer to in 5 minutes on google if they made even the smallest amount of effort
sorry i'm not sorry, i asked my first stackoverflow question 3-5 years after I started my career. it's not a helpdesk the moment you encounter an error with your code or have a question about it
