I sometimes laugh randomly about the incident where @fullstackcircus hyped up his code a little too much, and when he got judged by other devs, resorted to "Well I guess, there is always room for improvement".

LOL.

    Yo jealous?

I could get pissed about a lot of guys who think they're coding gods...

But when they admit there is room for improvement and actually think about the input they get, they deserve to get some slack.

Cuz then there is hope that one doesn:t have to fire them or grill their testicles to stop them from puking out bad code AND behaving like it's good code.

Plus the code wasn't that bad.

If you think that was bad, you're really delusional in my opinion. XD

@IntrusionCM I know better than to try to flex my skills in front of other devs anywhere ever. There are so many talented devs out there who would turn me into dust in an instant if they wished to.

Do I like the code I write? - Yes
Is my code objectively better than some devs code? - Yes
Do I think I work harder than some devs? - Yes

But I would never claim I'm the best at what I do, because I realize what a dumbass I am.

Come on, this is meant to be a platform where we rant about stuff in our daily dev lives - it's not a pissing competition where we see who can put who down the most.

Think it's fair to say he learnt something from that, it wasn't *that* bad, and it came from a place of frustration after unsuccessfully job hunting for ages. That's a really sucky place to be.

How'd you feel if someone posted a link to this rant in a week saying "hey everyone remember the incident where Sid just showed he was a massive dick to someone trapped in unemployment?"

    Be kind by default.

I literally taught students how to program C in university. So i tried to give fair and square critique on the code.

What pissed me off, was that weird belief of thinking that complex code is good code. It is not, and never will be.

And to be completely honest, if you look at that ticket tool i wrote a while ago, the rust devs will cringe on some of the stuff i did there. And that's fine, because i never claimed to be a good rust dev or anything. Taking critique is the thing that makes a dev a good dev.
