How hard is it to create a decent looking wordPress for someone with a background in general software dev experience but none in Front-end/webde? Any tips?

Most people on here are gonna hate me but if you just stick with some builder like X Theme your website will probably look fine.

It's all drag and drop in wordpress design isn't it? Shouldn't be too hard if you have the patience for it

@ChappIO I don't fancy wordpress but I got to say, X theme is the shit. They've done a really great job

@Froot yea, I haven't ever bothered with child themes though so most updates break my site. (I don't bother putting effort into my personal site)

@Froot also, would you have an alternative to wp which you do prefer? (Personal blog/showcase)

@ChappIO I usually build stuff from scratch with React but then again I don't really do blogs and the such. So my advice is pretty useless here 😄

@Froot oh well, maybe I should just use x theme properly for once.

I had good results porting from wp to cmsmadesimple, it's easy to extend but very basic by default. 90% of my sites are done from scratch.
