Maybe the Windows thing was accurate before, but Windows 10 is freaking fast man. I put a cheap SSD in my PC and it's insane.

Stuck an ssd in my pc the last month, installed windows 10 on it. Don't know how I lasted so long without one.

people seriously!!!!! its nt abt speed or patience. its abt learning and doing with linux. food for thought how many super coumputers run windows and how many opem source software runs on it. windows is nt for developers in my opinion.

Honestly, I bought my first MacBook Pro in high school. My parents didn't give me a dime of help towards it...I worked for every penny of it. And it's the best computer I've ever owned.

It is now 5 years old, still runs incredibly fast and is still supported by Apple's latest and greatest. I use it every single day. And it has been put to the test...from massive C++ and C# contract jobs, to small web projects, to game development, to running Windows (for a CS professor I had who literally got off on Win32) and Linux in Parallels, to simple school work.

I had, if I'm remembering correctly, four decent Windows computers prior to my MacBook...every single one of them was a constant reliability issue and eventually kicked the can. But this computer is more reliable than I even expected.

The only thing I ever did to it was replace its HDD with an SSD.

Plus, Darwin is based on UNIX (and it's open source, believe it or not), so everything just makes sense and feels clean...very unlike Windows and it's innate mess.

So according to this a linux user is someone who can't afford a mac? classic backfire of linux cockiness I guess :P

The people that rant about windows are getting old, you cant say whatever about windows 10 but you can't say it's slow.

Windows 10 is a great improvement on a lot of things. It looks and feels great. But it's still Windows. It's guts are still clunky as hell to work with. If you've ever had to do system or driver programming, you'll know.

If it looks like a Ferrari, then I guess a lot of the world wants to say that it's a Ferrari though...

    Patience is a virtue.

@rookiemaverick then how would anything ever get developed for Windows? are game devs not devs? your comment makes zero sense.

@kodel knowing the rhetoric, it is more that Linux users know not to spend more than necessary
