Was helping out a friend yesterday with word macros.

Never did that stuff before, but thought, it can't be that hard...

It took me almost 3 hours to figure out, how to fill a fucking textbox based on if a checkbox is selected or not. was also kind of a throwback to MFC Applications (because of how bad the UI was)

    UI apis and libs are so fucking convoluted, it sometimes takes my breath away.

    Wonder if this has been part of the reason to move back to immediate mode UIs?

    @Wisecrack good question. i for my part do enjoy working with immediate mode ui kits for sure. egui is the one i currently work with 👌

    @thebiochemic choice decision.

    I think whatever paradigm comes next out of immediate mode UIs, will eventually become the dominate choice for UI libs.

    It always felt like, using IMGUI, that it was only a few model and conceptual decisions away from being super efficient to work with and build UIs in.

    Whatever the next logical leap coming from immediate mode, is I think, going to be amazing.
