Should I tell him?

    If you do, don't be an asshole about it.
  • 1
    @jhh2450 boooo!
  • 3
    He/She may be just starting off, so please be gentle with him/her.
  • 2
    Evolution does not happen with a gentle breeze, it's all fucking and being eaten. Be as mean as you want.
  • 1
    @jhh2450 I am not so great in communication. Maybe you can help me do it..
    @Japorized Seems like he has been here for a year now

    I might as well tag him here but not sure how he will feel...
  • 2
    @Raamakrishnan Might not have updated his profile since then? 😂 Idk, I’d usually forget to update mine.

    @gorsamp While you're right, devRant isn't a community of assholes and this doesn't represent us.
  • 0
    I listed a game engine there, too.. so why not?
  • 0
    Forgot npm
  • 7
    @gorsamp You're a dick!

    Don't blame me, I just acted on your advice...
  • 2
    @Raamakrishnan not sure which year you are in, but date appears to be 2 weeks ago for the rest of us.
  • 0
    @C0D4 my phone's year is fine. Which date are you talking about? The post's date shows 44m for me
  • 12
    Also what the fuck is this rant anyway. Pointing fingers and making fun of people to score some ++ doesn't help this community one bit. Don't you have something more productive to do with your time than to stalk people's profiles?

    Better go write some XAML, that's clearly much superior to HTML because it doesn't have a meme associated with it.

    Edit: Oh yes! You even tagged the poor bastard. Noyce!
    Fuck right off man

    @jhh2450 should I add that disclaimer to all my comments?

    @Froot I am not saying he should go out of his way to be a dick, but he doesn't need to sugar coat it either.
  • 1
    I don't get what's wrong
  • 0
    I just seriously looked up my profil... 😂
  • 0
    @gorsamp There's a difference in sugar coating and unnecessarily being a dick
  • 0
    @jhh2450 yeah, that's what I said
  • 1
    @Froot last time I checked, this was a ranting community. The only reason everyone is here is that we don't have anything better to do. So, don't talk about "improving the community". Isn't we all pointing fingers at somebody, at their mistakes?

    And I didn't tag anyone here.

    I don't actually get what's wrong with that list
  • 0
    @LeFlawk right? I'm thinking either that "html isn't a programming language" or the famous "Java and js are different"...
  • 1
    @kyleperik @LeFlawk Thinking it's the GitHub part.

    At least that's what I caught.
  • 4
    @xalez @kyleperik @LeFlawk That field is meant for the languages that you know or use, since the symbol means code. Git and Github aren’t programming languages, since git is a CLI version control system, and Github is just a site made based on git. So strictly speaking, these shouldn’t be included in the field, but it’s, of course, no real harm in putting them in the field. But there are just too many people who mistake them as actual languages, or categorize them as a language.

    Hopefully that clears it up for you guys.

    Edit: Although I say that, HTML isn’t a programming language, but at this time and age it’s not just a markup language either.
  • 1
    @jhh2450 @LeFlawk hmm that's probably it. Though I think GitHub is valid, because it's got many more components that don't involve just git.
  • 1
    @Japorized is right... it's really not a big deal. Just make sure they're aware it's not actually a language and all is good. 🤷
  • 3
    I put vim in mine. Mainly because I like talking about vim though. Did I mention how awesome vim is? Vim...
  • 3
    Actually the placeholder says skills not languages, so Html is valid.
  • 2
    Do you know who is the kind of people that put others on blast? Panochones, that is who. And you are a big ass panochon. We do not need dickheads here, they can go suck each other on stack overflow like they normally do. I fucking hate this mentallity.
  • 1
    @Jeremiahlukus Go to ddg and search for !vimawesome ;)
  • 0
    @Japorized thanks, I thought that might be it, but as @Jeremiahlukus said, the placeholder says skills not languages

    @Japorized would have been way more helpful a few years ago haha definitely going to look though it today in class though ha.
  • 0
    @xalez Thanks for pointing that out cause I missed that reply. Well then git would still be considered a skill. But Github certainly isn’t, or, at least, redundant.
    @Jeremiahlukus Was just playing with your “Vim is awesome” phrase 😂
  • 1
    Hi, devRant API user here...

    That field is officially called "skills", not "languages". GitHub belongs there. Don't shit where you eat; don't rant about other ranters.

    @Raamakrishnan @Japorized @gorsamp
  • 1
    @AlgoRythm Might as well list all the other platforms like Github that relies on git then, i.e Gitlab, bitbucket, etc. That’s a lot of skills added from just learning git!

    And I don’t think this “rant” was meant as a rant. Plus, it’s a pretty common misunderstanding even among devs, especially new ones. Read through the other comments here before condemning.

    @Japorized Read through them. GitHub can be a skill. You can familiar with their systems like GitHub pages. And are you really trying to tell me calling out someone isn't meant to be rant? The author of the rant himself said he was ranting.
  • 0
    @AlgoRythm Point taken. I shall leave the fact of whether I was criticizing the person to your opinion.
