I was just flicking through my new android phone, ended up on my I.P address, and it had 6 addresses?!?

One IPv4
One IPv6
4 IPv6 with single colons

I might be a bit thick, but shouldn't a device have 2 I.P's at max? Or am I wrong?

    Can you attach screenshot?

@mazabin I'd rather not as it could be to do with external I.P's, but it's not too important, just one of those annoying things that I can't forget xD

You can anonimize the numbers I'm just curious about that weird IPv6s. :)

Also I just had a pretty serious brain freeze while rrying to find a word for numbers in English. Hate when my brain does that.

Look up "Privacy Extension for Stateless Address Autoconfiguration in IPv6".

It is enabled by default in Android and involves periodically cycling between new semi-randomly generated addresses within a given /64 subnet.

My Windows Desktop reports 15 IPs 13 of which are `0.0.0.0`

@romangraef ah, I love Windows. It's like watching a very stupid, very spoilt child acting like an adult sometimes :)
