Yes, but with PC, i dont work in laptop, too small screen for developers to work.
A developer requires minimum of 2 monitors. If three then Awesome -
lynxis638y@merlano17 you still need to connect your headphones ofc ( if not bluetooth headphones) to the rig or and amp/soundcard :p
-
hayz8558y@merlano17 Not sure how to tell you this, but... It's possible to connect external monitor to the notebook. ;)
-
lynxis638y@merlano17 port replicators/docks + the internal video ports so up to four or even six in some cases ;)
-
@merlano17 displayport 1.2 daisy chained. got 3 hooked up without the one on my laptop
-
hayz8558y@merlano17 Depends on the notebook and your work style.
In my opinion one monitor is ideal, two - sometimes, but usually it's too much (yes you can have terminal open on one and browser open on other, but you can go with virtual desktops.
My point is - you can always focus on one thing only.
PS. I can't find a use case for three monitors. -
@hayz well personally I use three one for api docs, another for an ide or notepad and a terminal and the last to look at what I'm working on where I don't have to minimize my ide. when I'm away from my monitors switching between workspaces tend to add up
-
svandeun4118yI also use 3.... One for Unity, one for visual studio attached to the unity project and one with 2 visual studio windows for the library I work on and one for the C++ <-> C# bridge I develop to interface said library
-
Or when you need to reach something that is just too far when they are plugged in... Prefer the struggle rather than plugging them out lol
