Where to get help on fixing a bug:
8479.Your coworker who is coding with his earphones on.11
Do not disturb someone especially if they are in the zone.
Hint : earphones on, a ton of error logs on screen.7
Bought new headphones because my current ones' input fucked up again. Already ordered a new one for free but hours of traveling today without music isn't really an option for me.
New headphones don't work on devices without usb ports! 😭.
Went back to the store because I didn't know that and thought they were just failing and got it explained there. No money back because they were working fine.
Me: "well fuck me right now, then I'll just travel without music today :'(".
Guy: *grabs something from a closet thingy* "Here you go, a pair of earphones!"
Me: "Awesome! How much?"
Guy: "Enjoy your traveling man!".
Thanks a thousand times to that guy!15
Before starting to work. Puts on earphones and starts listening music, while working wild error appears, pauses music to concentrate on fixing error.
Day passes earphone on but no music playing.
Happens every time.7
The moment when you are so engrossed in your work that you forget that your earphones have not been playing any music for a while.4
Sometimes when I code, I plug in my earphones and listen to music, focused, in zone.
* I let everyone think that.
** I actually don't listen to anything.
*** Keeps the buggers away!10
Get really motivated to make something at 1am.
Pulls out laptop, earphones go in.
Types first line of code, girlfriend wakes up, complains about the lowest screen brightness with dark theme being too bright.
Typical TSA (Airport Security)
Security: Please put all of your handheld objects and your outer clothes in this basket.
Me: (puts my bag, in flight luggage, and takes out laptop, bluetooth speaker, bluetooth mouse, bluetooth keyboard, tablet, android phone, dongle bag, and windows phone)
S: (stares at me as if I am a rich kid)
M: May I go through?
M: (smirks, and goes through metal detector)
M: (oh shit.)
Scanning Officer: Raise your hand!
S: (Hovers the detection stick around my body, but it doesn't ring, tells me to pass through the detector again. Still rings. Super confused. Asks me to do this 2-3 times more. Still same.)
M: Aha! I have my bluetooth earphones here! Sorry!
S: (stares at me, as if he is saying what a f****** weirdo)
My stuff comes out. I put my devices in the bag. The scanning officer stares at me.
To be continued....2
FUCKING PEOPLE THAT USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT! THIS SHIT RANT IS FOR YOU CUNTS!
I mean, IF YOU ARE FUCKING DEAF DONT USE FUCKING EARPHONES AND TURN THE FUCKING VOLUME UP SO HIGH THAT EVERYONE CAN HEAR YOUR SHITTY
Dubstep, EDM, K-Pop OR ANY OTHER FUCKING MUSIC! thank you AND FUCK OFF!
And also IF YOU WANT TO GET ON THE FUCKING BUS, MAKE ROOM FOR PEOPLE TO GET OUT FIRST! I mean, the entrance STAYS FUCKING OPEN! AND FUCKING OTHER PEOPLE ALSO HAVE TO LEAVE THE FUCKING BUS FIRST!
I LEARNED THAT IN FUCKING KINDERGARTEN!16
We all work on the same room: Devs and testers.
In order to communicate with each other without taking off our earphones, we use the chat app.
Ok, sometimes the chat app has delay sending messages.
I really, really hate when one of the testers comes to my desk without telling me he's coming to my desk! >:v and this is the reason why I hate it so much: I'm concentrate in my code, listening to ASP or SPA and, suddenly, I feel a heavy presence behind my monitors. I look up and I see a very penetrating gaze from the corpulent tester looking at me (he's tall). Every time he does that I almost have a heart attack D:
"There's a bug I want you to check" he says.
And I check my chat app if there's a delayed message from him. Nothing, NOTHING >:v
Always, when I want to go to his desk, I send him a message
"Is it ok if I go to your desk?" and he says me "You don't have to ask for it, just come here" but the thing is that I do that because I expect him to do the same :/
Fortunately this doesn't happen every day, but it pisses me off, and I don't know how to tell him to stop doing that because I don't want to be like a... jerk? intolerant? I don't know18
I fucking fell in love. Damn oh yeah. I bought new headphones. Cheap SONY. Didnt expect any bass and i expected like no good sound. Damn was i fucking wrong. The sound is amazing. No fuck amazing. Even better. And then i found my love. PulseEffects.
The bass is even better and much much louder.
This is amazing.
I never tought that earphones can do so much bass in that small package but damn was i wrong.
Expect much fucking better code from me now.
No not because because the bass and that stuff. OK maybe it has some part in it. But main is that i dont hear even a single sound from the rest of he fucking word.
What does that mean ?
I will not be able to hear my fucking classmates and write actually decent code.
LOL wtf did i say ? Decent code ? LOOOOOOL9
I hate open space offices for following reasons
- bright environment (I cannot turn off the light just for my own)
- noises (talking, discussions, chewing)
- requests and questions
But I still cannot afford to be in my own office room yet.
Now I have to wear a cap inside the office like a mad-hatter and plug my ears with earphones even without playing any music.11
It's 2017 and Ubuntu still doesn't automatically switch the sound to your earphones when you plug them in the jack. :'(9
I forgot my earphones at home today.
I travelled in the metro today.
I have a massive mother fucking headache today.
I feel like killing someone today.1
Few times per month. Its just crazy but you plug the earphones in. Some good music and write and think.
Oh fuck its 6am. Have to go to school4
God, I don't know whether I believe in you or not, but please kill all those people who play loud music in public.
So, I was travelling by a train two days ago. Halfway down the 15 hr journey, the guy next to me took out his laptop and started watching a movie, on speakers, in full volume. It naturally irritated me a lot, and I requested him to use head/earphones, to which he replied that he forgot his one back home. I told him to keep the volume down to which he got personal and put the volume down (maybe to 95%). Since I hate human interaction, I had to plug in my own earphones to keep his bitchy noise away.
The same thing happened today on the bus, the only two differences being:
• mobile phone instead of laptop
• said he doesn't own headphones
• claimed he could do whatever he wanted as it was not illegal
Now, I wished he fell of the bus and died, but the world ain't fair, so he still lives.15
Finally got my Bluetooth earphones!
It's called Pamu Scroll, funded in Indiegogo.
I bought it for $49 without shipping fee.
Now let me write a review about it here after using for about an hour or so.
Shipment from China is slow and hard to track unless it is classified as EMS, which mine wasn't, obviously.
It has some shock protection layer, but without that, nope! It was staying still inside the packaging though.
Beautiful. Just beautiful. Period. Just see the picture below.
It opens as a papyrus, maybe that's why it is called Pamu Scroll. Both the case's end, and earphones itself has magnets to hold each other.
It has a leather feeling to both the inside and outside of the case, and the touch control area of the earphones is also leather feeling, adding a nice touch that differs with other earphonnes.
The diamond feeling finish in the end of the case makes the case itself isn't earphones, more like some expensive jewelry case.
My ears are smaller than most people, for I am young, so it sometimes fall off when I jump, but when I put it the correct way, never falls out.
I am not an audiophile. I don't really care about the audio quality and how it sounds like unless the sound is too cringy and has so many white noise.
This earphones has white noise, but just a little bit, you won't notice except when you are in a quiet room.
The bass is boosted, but low sounds, and vocals can be cringy sometimes, so I should manually tune them with my phone's equalizer.
Not tested yet, but they advertise as using it in the shower.
7. Stereo call
Yup. Stereo call. Call in both ears. But only right microphone seems to get the voice.
Using BT 5, it is a breeze to connect.
Take both of them out, put to your ear, then ding! "Connected"
wireless charging for optional purchase - 10 bucks
You have 3.5 hrs of listening time in both ears, and you can charge 2 times more each by putting in the case.
Overall, it is awesome and let's just pray it doesn't break for at least for an year.
One side note, I can activate assistant by double tapping in the left ear (yes it is touch control), but my S8 asks me if I want to customize with Automate/Tasker. Yup!
Will share that later as well.
If you have any questions, ask me! Thanks for reading my first ever product review in devRant! <311
A classmate's earphones once stopped working, I went to go look at it. After a bit of tinkering, I said, "The speakers on these are toast, you'll need a new pair." Then, some random kid grabbed the tablet mind you, and not the earphones, played in the settings, and said "Fixed." I then told them, "This is a hardware issue, not a software issue." What's worse? Some people said "So, software and hardware are the same thing."
Mississippi is just full of computer Illiterates.19
Really fed up with my colleague and possibly my job. Am starting to doubt am cut out to be a developer
Oh and the salary was crap but i figured since i had barely 3 years of exp i thought i would stick with it for a while
But a few months ago after seeing other opportunities I got fed up and threatened to quit , already started interviewing etc
Got an offer, not exactly what i wanted but better than where i was. Went to quit but they freaked out and started throwing money at me. They matched and exceed the other salary and promised to addressed the issues that made me want to leave. Ie get me to work more on the java side of the project and have me work with someone more senior who could sort of mentor me, i had been working semi solo on the js shit till then...
The problem is that my supposed mentor is selfish prick... he is the sort of guy who comes in real early, basically he goes to early morning prayer then come in at some ungodly hour and fuckoff home around 3pm
He does all his work early morning then spends the rest of the day with his headphones on stealthily watching youtube, amazon, watching cricket, reading about Palestine , how oppressed muslims are or building a website for some mosque.
I asked him to let me sit with him so that I could just learn how this or that part of the sys worked , he agreed then the very next day comes in and does all the work before i get in at 9 , i asked him how he did it and he tells me oh just read the code.
Its not as simple as that, out codebase is an old pile of non standard legacy dog shit. Nothing works as it should, i tried to go through documentation online for the various stuff we use , but invariably get stuck when i try the usual approach because it turns out the original devs had essentially done a lot of custom hacks and cowboy coding to get stuff working, they screwed around with some of the framework jars & edited libraries to get stuff to work, resulting in some really weird OSGI errors.
My point is that i cant really just "read the code" or google ...
I gotta know a bit more what was actually modified and a lot of this knowledge isn't fucking documented, theres a lot of " ohhh that weird bug yeah yeah that happens cuz x did this hack some years ago to fix this issue and we kinda built on it, yeah we weren't supposed to do that but heyyy what u gonna do, just do this or that instead"
I was asked to set up a web service to export something, since thats his area of expertise and he is suppose to be teaching me the ropes, i asked him to explain where i should start and what would the general workflow be, his response is to tell me to just copy the IMPORT service and rename it to export then "just do it um change it or something" very helpful indeed (building enterprise application here nothing complex at all!!)
He sits right next to me so i can see how much works he actually does, i know when he just idly sitting there so thats when i ask him questions, he always has his earphones on so each time i gotta find a way to get his attention with a poke or a wave, he will give a heavy sigh and a weary look as he removes his headphones, listen to my question then give me the shortest answer possible before IMMEDIATELY turning away and putting his headphones on as fast as possible regardless of whether I actually understood or even heard what he said. If i ask another question ( am talking like an immediate follow up question for a clarification or something) he will
Do the whole sigh + tired look routing to make me know yeah you are disturbing me. ( god was so happy the day he accidentally sat on and broke them)
Yesterday i caught a glance at his screen as i was sitting down and i think he and another dev were talking about me
That am slow with my work and take forever to get into gear.
Starting to have doubts about my own ability n wether am really cut out to be a developer. I know i can work hard but its impossible to do so when you have no clue where to start and unable to look it up since all the custom hacks doesn't really allow any frame of reference.
Feels like am being handicapped and mocked, yesterday i just picked up my gear n left the office.
I never talk ill about my colleagues, whenever i have a 121 with my mgr i always all is fine, x n y are really helpful etc
I tried to indirectly tell my other colleague about this guy, he told me that guy had kinda mentally checked out of this job and was just going through on auto pilot and just laughed it off (they have been working together for almost a decade and a buddies) my other colleague is pretty nice but he usually swamped with work so i feel bad to trouble him.
Am really Fed up with it all7
Gorgeous SE215 got its cable broken? Thanks god I have a spare cable they call “Apple Earpods” and I can solder!8
Holy shit I bought some 'entry-level' audiophile earphones, and I never knew you could experience so much joy from music alone 😮6
It's a Friday morning I'm tired as hell after a hard week. trying to plough through all my work earphones in, music really loud. Sales guy in the office tries to talk to me i didn't hear him as my earphones were in he then says "you need to turn your music down or turn it off if you can't hear us" he said this in this serious tone. *music gets louder* to drown his noise out.3
I'm sitting in the computer room trying to program, but my teacher is playing a record of a fucking live concert with his monitor's speakers. Earphones are disallowed here, and we are not allowed to do this outselves, and I can't work like that. TEACHER CEASE YOUR SHIT AND LET US WORK6
@cozyplanes birthday is coming.....
And my dad is asking if I want some presents....
But I can't think of one.
I already have decent headphones and earphones, speaker, keyboard, mouse, laptop, monitor, phone, and tablet...
I personally don't need anything now, but I want to get something.
Can anyone recommend hardware stuff for me? (not software) Mostly tech related, but if you can think of music stuff or leisure stuff (like boosted board, even tho I don't have the time to ride it), that's great too!
Will waiting for you guys/gals suggestions.
P.S. Ofc I want to get my own A320 or A350, but I am pretty sure my dad can't afford it. If any of you guys/gals have the money, please contact me.18
**** $h!t **** $h!t WHY IN THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU KEEP FORGETTING AND FORGETTING TO BRING A SINGLE EARPHONES TO OFFICE???? BRAIN, WHYYYYYY?4
If I'm coding with earphones on and you need help, feel free to tap me on the shoulder.
Once the earphones are off and I'm coding, wait till I'm wearing then again!1
Joy is when you learn that long press on microphone button on your earphone changes the track..
No more need to Everytime unlock the phone to change the track..1
Which fucking idiot thought it was a good idea to give adds the right to go and bust your fucking eardrums out of the blue. Like, I'll be sitting here playing a mobile game with my earphones in that has like little to no sound and out of nowhere some fucking add just goes BANG BANG BANG BANG as if my phone's volume is on max volume and put through an amplifier just to fucking rape my ears.
I GOT NEWS TO EVERY ONE THAT THIBKS THIS IS A GOOD IDEA:
NOBODY FUCKING LIKES YOU AND I HOPE YOU BURN IN A FIRE THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SOUND IN A PADDED ROOM WHERE SOUND IS NOT A THING
Now and then, my friends and I have a #FirstWorldGeekProblems.
Such as, left my good earphones at home, making do with a cheap £1 pair.
What's your FirstWorldGeekProblems?5
A boss who is the most inefficient boss ever. No, yours is not, mine is, trust me.
In the middle of coding, never in the zone for obvious reasons. A workmate wants me to call him to discuss stuff as he is working from home, which I wish I were.
I keep coding and decide to call him later.
My boss interrupts me again to TELL ME IF I CAN CALL MY WORKMATE.
I HATE YOU STREAMING SERVICES! FUCK YOU!
Here's the setup:
I work in a rather small office, where we are like 7 people (including me). Now, there's one person in charge of putting music through speakers (obviously, not everyone enjoys the same kind of music)
Well, we have a hell of a small bandwidth (1.5MBPS tops), now, add to that that every single fucker here uses "Spotify" and it's streaming their music...
Good side: I have my earphones and ~30GB of my music on my phone, so it's not an issue for me, also, I'm kinda audiophile, so Spotify quality sucks.
Bad side: I can't even fucking load Google because those fuckers are eating the bandwidth.5
My Beats In-ear earphones just died, after 3 years of pretty frequent use. The cable is broken and one side is dead and the other side is flickering. Now I am looking for a replacement. And I hope that someone here can suggest me something that fits my needs :s
First question would be wireless or cable. I am not to sure yet, I think I'd prefer cable because I don"t need to charge them and the possibility of loosing them is not as big. However I am open to wireless earphones as well, since they are pretty good to listen to music during workout.
I want my earphones to have deep bass and clear highs.
One of the most important aspects is durability. If its a cable earphone, I would prefer something with strong durable cables, nothing flimsy that breaks again in a short time.
Oh yeah and the price shouldn"t break the bank, I am thinking about something <100 euros.
What would you guys recommend me?42
fuck coworkers who will still disturbed you even you have your earphones on, just to debate you if you know the difference between a class and an object.
(also talks confidently and loud enough to attract other officemates attention.)
Turns out that this same asshole doesn't know what he is talking about. Then you proved him wrong , and in the end he will just copy what you are saying. In other words all the time wasted for nothing! fck
fuck these kind of people. my productivity suffers, also they look like fools.
fuck these assholes who are very specific in technical names and jargons but dont know how to use it. fuck you all arrogant asshole dipshit mdfckrr feeling superior and annoying
sorry peeps argghh
can someone give me a hug1
As I've mentioned in a company-held course about this topic: Construction work noises.
"Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
At least there's earphones that help prevent this from ever reaching my ears.
Lost 3 earphones / headphones in one week...
Looking for a new one, over the ear headphone, which can come along with me for years...4
Fuck this shit.
Earphones broke. Well one of them. Crap. And funny ? I fixed one of them and the one i fixed survived and the other one which i havent even touched broke. Well shit.
I was wondering if its cable. Resoldered it. Nope not working.
Checked the connection with multimeter. Its OK.
Well shit the speaker on its own broke.
Its not like they are expensive. They were like 8$ but SONY put nice speakers in them like really really nice ones. They had almost full hearing range (Tested with friend who has mic that can test the range) and well shit they broke now.
I finally did it! I changed my laptop from win10 to Ubuntu, but now there is a crackling noise when I use earphones on it.
I have spent hours trying to find a solution but nothing works😭2
On the off-chance there's a Spotify Dev lurking around here... GOD DAMNIT!! For some reason listening to Spotify(PC) through earphones and then unplugging them to listen through the machine's speakers turns Spotify into a vegetable (not even a nice one). Speakers to headphones works fine though.
I needz muziks to devs good
I'd answer the question, but whenever I sit and I'm completely in the zone, there always someone who'll fucking tap me on the shoulder.
Despite the hoodie, earphones and the obvious fact that if I go any closer to the screen, I'd be stuck to it.5
Am i the only one who finds it difficult to code whilst listening to music on my earphones? I fond it difficult to concentrate10
Only for the fact i had my earphones turned off I overheard the BA saying the ticket im working on is no longer a problem as the external vendor has fixed the issue.
What the Actual Fuck is going on, if i didnt ask what the story was i would have been working on a fucking bug that wasnt present in live or ever will be,!!
Get to Fuck you God Damn Ass Clown
What type of amplifier circuit would I need to power a 60w 8ohm speaker or can you recommend any prebuilt amplifier boards ?
I spotted the below stuff while cleaning out my junk cupboard and thought it might be a fun side project to convert them into a portable bluetooth speaker since the earphones are shit anyway and I've always wanted to learn more about amplifiers.
The only question remaining is how to amplify the headphone output signal enough to power the speaker. I plan on either using cells from old laptop batteries or a motorbike battery as a power supply so input voltage would be roughly 10-12v.
The speaker is from a set I salvaged from an old 80's hifi and has excellent sound quality, would mounting the components inside it have a large negative effect on it's sound?
Also although I would prefer to make my own amplifier board as a learning experience the goal is to have a portable speaker with good sound quality... is this something I'm likely to get from my first attempt at an amplifier or should I rather get a ready made board?9
Was raging that my new earphones already got a short circuit only to realize that I didn’t put the other ear in....
I found my earphones that I thought I lost on a pocket of my pants. This is the best thing that could happen to me2
Yeah sure keep buying your latest and greatest Bluetooth WiFi Wireless Charging and fucking awesome earphones...
I'm doing fine with my 3$ from China analogic crap.1
Every morning both coworkers that sit by my side are listening to music in full volume on their earphones. The noise I hear is driving me nuts6
www.askyourmom.com”ur earphones, put on some really good NCS music, keep a note on your workspace stating: “Currently coding. Please fuck off. For further queries log on to: www.askyourmom.com”
And starting coding. ✌🏻5
How can any sensible person but Apple AirPods, when their wired earphones break just by looking at them9
Forgot my earphones at home today for the first time in years (first time in months for sure).
I had forgotten what it's like to be human and be in the present.3
What earphones (in ear monitors) would you guys suggest? Looking for one within 50$ or ₹3000.
I work in an open office and the lack of noise isolation is killing me13
Be it public parks, or airports.
Be it people bitching about a perfectly good cup of coffee/chai or people snoring in a library.
If not for my earphones, I would be exponentially ineffective each day, and melt down in a blob of exhaustion.
I become such a infinite source of all peace after I plug my earphones in and it continues for some hours after I take them off.1
So yesterday I had to do some windows updates.
Today, I turn my laptop back on and notice I don't have sound.
Alright, I'll just see if I have some outdated drivers. Oh, I have 3, and one it's the sound driver! Cool, let me just update that. What do you mean I can't? Alright, let me try this app I have installed to see if it can update everything for me. It did, great!
Oh, but now the sound is coming from my earphones AND the speaker... Let me check the app again. Nothing. Let me check the drivers again. Detection verification is outdated. Alright, I'll just update that one, no big deal. Windows could not find drivers? Alright, let's see if windows update can find something! Nothing.
Okay, let's check sound definitions. What about troubleshooting? Still nothing?
Well, now I'm pissed. Let's see what the internet thinks I should do. Almost one hour later, I've tried everything I can think of and still can't fix this. Fml8
I wish I could invite the me of 3-4 years ago to my room and prove him wrong.
Basically, the me of 3-4 years ago thought: "What do I need a home PC for? I got a laptop."; hell, he always forgot to put the laptop with the plural 's', because understandably, for his study life, he took low-cost PCs that would only last like one year.
But my boy, laptops are cool and all, but have you ever experienced the complete comfort of a proper desktop? In addition to the bonuses of a home PC in terms of performance, it leaves a much better space for work than just a portable terminal in front of you and pretty up close to compose. The accessories didn't even cost me much. And it feels great to have everything in its own, right place: the screen at the bottom, the phone standing on its holder, the earphones on your head, your left hand on a mat with papers potentially on it, your right hand on the mouse, which is on the mousepad and also on that mousepad, that character you adore so much, when both said hands are not on the keyboard, beneath the whole table, or on it when no papers are on the way.
Seriously, that pleasure I longed for was something you could have started, me of 3-4 years ago, right when I began with my studies.
But I have no rancor over you, I'm still onto my studies, so this is still something I can take profit of, during my student life, thankfully ;)
I'll just take note at your stead, of not being too stubborn over things that can do oneself a greater good, objectively. :)6
I had this song stuck in my head the whole fucking day today. And I really, really *REALLY* wanted to listen to it. Once. Without any distractions or breaks. While working. And focusing on work. Matching the tempo of the song to My work rhythm.
SO WHY THE FUCK COULD PEOPLE NOT WAIT FOR 4 MINUTES AND 35 SECONDS AND ****CHOOSE**** TO IGNORE EARPHONES, A BLACK HOODIE COVERING MY ENTIRE FUCKING FACE AND THE LACK OF RESPONSES WHEN YOU CALLED THE FIRST 2 TIMES????????????????
Worst part? It was JUST THAT ONE SONG WHILE WORKING. OTHER TIMES, NOBODY CARES I EVEN FUCKING EXIST!1
A great rubber duck, always knew what I was talking about even when I didn't, could have a conversation with earphones in and a few taps on the desk. However, we sadly no longer work together after he moved to the USA! @thatcoolguyrob2
I have a noisy and talkative mate. Sometimes, to focus on my work, I put my earphones. But he shouts my name until I pay attention to him.1
Add a Progressive set to my playlist, mostly no earphones, on speakers!
Music calms the world down for me. Then Code, Code, Code until my body sweats and aches while sitting.
Is it just me or does everyone's earphone/headphone wire get caught on any damned thing exactly when your favourite part of a song is about to play
Like say I see fire's chorus might be coming up and a random amoeba might crawl along and my earphones would even get caught up on the little dude.
It's just sorcery
Tfw when you left your earphones at your parents home and you don't have any spare earphones at your own home.
Well, guess I'll just have to hear all the gossiping and whatevs in the office for the whole week1
