@SuspiciousBug it’s not just you. I’ve asked it to write me an essay with references and links it provided to said references didn’t work or lead to empty pages. Asked it to write me some kotlin code to connect to a database and that was only half right. It’s great at python tho.

@iceb so true 😭
-
@iceb and that’s what I hate the most. They get the backing of some executives and boom they are the head of a department or team.
-
@Oktokolo I see but Second Life grew organically and wasn’t being forced. Also many promises were made in regards to Zuck and his Metaverse and in the eyes of shareholders maybe hardly any of those were realized
-
@Oktokolo what Zuck is also missing is organic growth. He wants this to grow and be molded in his image.
This would involve people accepting his ideas on how things in the meta verse might work. And people just aren’t willing to do that. -
@Lensflare don’t wait. Start building it now!
-
@clamore wow this is worse than I thought. Do your best then get out a there.

There’s a lot of smart people in our field that learned how to code a while back and just called it a day. They are comfy in their jobs, they built some processes for the company and they may be the only ones who really know how said processes work and finally they are master bullshiters that have maneuvered their way into a position and the higher ups value them to some degree.
For them learning anything new isn’t really necessary and if you introduce anything new to them they may play it off as nothing important. I work with a few of them so I know where you’re coming from. -
@Oktokolo yeah I see how great it is for those who can’t draw or paints. And while I do see is getting better, in its current state some of the results can come off as a bit lifeless, like there’s something missing. I’ve been an admirer of art for a while now so I guess that’s my own biases showing.
-
@Oktokolo yeah they don’t I that’s ok I guess. That said Ai art is arguably pretty bad tho. But I’m all for Ai building me a front end.
-
@red-knot you do that
-
@vintprox it’s like hearing Vampires eat vegetables
-
@dotenvironment wait there’s a windows community 👀
-
@Oktokolo I don’t make ‘em I just post ‘em
-
But of course
-
Mmmmmmm intriguing 😏
-
@momad I’ve notice that it does the database thing but I don’t really mind that either. But I did change the number of parallel downloads it can do to about 6 so it’s much better now.
Plus as I said. The interface makes up for it. I like that I don’t have to decipher what it’s doing every single time I run a command. -
@jonas-w I think it might be due in part to their server offerings. Back in the day the server and desktop were pretty similar, but with the latest update and the memory module they’ve introduced in the desktop version it’s all falling apart.
-
@zlice yeah I think they wanted to do too much too soon and the reality kinda hit them. They should have maybe started off catering to devs then branch out from there.
Rumor had it after they failed to see Ubuntu mobile and a unified desktop materialize, they wanted to position themselves for a acquisition but then that never happened either. So now the focus is on Ubuntu Server which is still pretty rock solid. -
@Ranchonyx yeah idk why they keep testing our sanity like this
-
@jonas-w on 22.04.1? Yes I do think so
-
@Root It would be C Tesseract. At that point C is an Ai that you tell the issue and a proposed solution. It then tells you the actual solution, looks at you funny for thinking your solution was correct and then builds its solution.
-
@thebiochemic yeah I thought about calling it C Cubed...and the file extension could be .c3 🤔...
-
@IntrusionCM yeah a lot of them don't undering that a equal level of planning is involved. Even things like automating processes on a NoSQL databases it lost on a lot of people devs included.
-
@IntrusionCM yeah I see what you mean now. Some people even think NoSQL databases can't be queried or they think it can't be efficiently queried. So I know your frustration.
And this doesn't just go for random staff and out of the loop project managers but devs too. -
@IntrusionCM you understand what jokes and memes are right? As in HaHa.
-
@joewilliams007 I have a Dell XPS developer edition. But I have to admit the new Macs are sexy 😏
-
@Oktokolo sigh 😕......
-
Enough is enough 🤣🤣🤣
-
@nitnip you know I actually forgot you had to pay for it. 😆 in all honesty I don't pay for their products, student account.
